Now Accepting New Patients in North Carolina, Virginia, South Carolina, and Maine

Hi, I’m Dr. Joanna Gratton
I am a board-certified psychiatrist based in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina. I help adults (ages 18-64) navigating a wide range of emotional and mental health challenges; things such as anxiety, depression, mood disorders, PTSD, addiction, ADHD, sleep disorders, schizophrenia, and other psychotic disorders. Together we work to deepen self-understanding, build confidence, foster resilience, and move through life’s transitions and challenges. All resulting in an overall improvement in your quality of life. I see people locally in my office in Hendersonville, or via telehealth. I am licensed in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and Maine.
I have a special interest in supporting women throughout all stages of their reproductive lives, including pregnancy, peri and post -partum depression, and beyond. Together we develop a deeper sense of self, increased confidence, improvement of family relationships and communication, healthier sex drive and a greater ability to navigate through life’s difficult chapters.
I have another special interest in offering compassionate support to caregivers and those facing terminal diagnoses; helping to cultivate moments of joy in their lives by focusing on self-care, deeper personal connections and creating a sense of calm and acceptance during these challenging transitions.
My Approach
My focus is on developing positive and trusting relationships with patients allows for the deep and difficult work necessary to move through a challenging time. The nature of my practice allows me to have more time to spend getting to know you, addressing any concerns that come up, to ensure we create the most effective treatment plan for you.
My belief is that we are all unique beings and must be treated as such. I offer a unique personalized, integrative approach using different modalities-including traditional psychiatric care, supplements, herbal remedies, lifestyle coaching, sleep hygiene, lab testing, meditation and mindfulness, grounding exercises, psychotherapy, and look closely at how nutrition and body movement can positively impact wellbeing.
