Frequently Asked Questions

  • I treat adults ages 18-64 who are invested in putting in the work to feel better, lead happier, more fulfilling lives and are interested in a more holistic approach to mental health treatment. I work with people who are suffering with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder and other mood disorders, ADHD, PTSD, eating disorders, addiction and sleep disorders.

I enjoy working with women in all stages of their lives. Conditions treated include depression and mood changes with menstrual cycles, fertility concerns and the intense emotions that can surround infertility, anxiety and mood disorders throughout pregnancy and after the baby is born, peri and postmenopausal symptoms and finally, sexual health throughout every stage of life.

Throughout my career I have found deep meaning in working with people nearing the end of their lives. If you have been diagnosed with a terminal illness and are feeling psychological and spiritual distress, I can help you through your transition as you navigate complicated family relationships, inner turmoil and a desire to feel as though your life has had meaning.

I also work with the caregivers and family members of those with terminal illnesses and those with grief that interferes with day to day living.

  • While I prefer seeing patients in my Hendersonville, NC office, I do also offer telehealth visits allowing you to comfortably, conveniently, and securely seek help from the privacy of your own home.

I’m licensed to see patients in North Carolina, South Carolina, Maine, and Virginia.

  • Frequency will depend on the nature and severity of your symptoms. Initially, it is most common for us to meet biweekly or monthly for the first 3-6 months of treatment and then to meet every 3 months following that. I have the flexibility to meet more frequently if that is indicated and desired.

  • We are all different, as are our paths to wellness. One treatment plan may work well for some but not others. The body is not a sum of its parts, but rather a complex, interactive system of body, mind, and spirit that works as an entire unit. We will work together in finding the unique path that suits you best. Together we will learn what has or hasn’t worked for you in the past, and explore other alternatives that will enable you to live your best life.

I focus on developing positive and trusting relationships with my patients. This allows for the deep and difficult work necessary to move through a challenging time. I take the time to see and hear people, getting to know them and addressing any concerns that come up to ensure they have a full understanding of the recommendations and plan.

    • 90 minute Psychiatric Evaluation $450

    • 120 minute Integrated Psychiatric Evaluation $595

    • 25 minute follow up $195

    • 50 minute follow up $295

  • Stillpoint Psychiatry is a cash based practice. I am out-of-network for all insurance companies, but I can provide an itemized receipt or superbill that may allow you to get some reimbursement from your insurance company if you have out-of-network benefits.

Also, please note that I’m not associated with Medicare or Medicaid

Why don’t I accept insurance? When it comes to mental health, insurance companies can be extremely restrictive in terms of the types and frequency of treatments a patient can receive. I have chosen to provide the care I truly believe in that is not dictated by insurance companies.

  • If you’re satisfied with seeing someone for a 15-20 minute visit every few months for medication refills and little else, then an in-network provider may be the best fit for you. An out-of-network physician like me would be an excellent fit for you if you’re interested in the following:

    • A physician who can take more time with you during and between visits to work on your personalized goals

    • A multidisciplinary approach that honors your wisdom and preferences

    • Evidence-informed, integrative psychiatry that is difficult to find in agency or community health settings

    • Easy, hassle-free scheduling and communication with your physician between visits

    • Making an investment in your health and well-being

  • Integrative psychiatrists use the best of what Western medicine offers alongside evidence-based alternative therapies, such as supplements, plant medicine, mindfulness, diet and exercise practices. Alternative healers avoid use of Western medicine entirely.

  • Integrative psychiatry is a holistic approach to mental health care that combines conventional treatments like medication and therapy with complementary practices like nutrition, lifestyle adjustments, and mind-body techniques. It focuses on addressing the interconnectedness of the mind, body, and spirit, aiming to improve overall well-being rather than just managing symptoms
